What is Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA)

RA is a chronic disease of unknown cause affecting millions of adults world wide. An inflammatory disease of the “synovium” it results in pain, stiffness, swelling, deformity and eventually loss of function in the joints. (Oxford Journals Rheumatology – Vol. 42, Issue 5, Page 652 – 659). Because there is no known cure or means of preventing RA, the American College of Rheumatology recommends the earliest possible diagnosis and treatment with disease modifying anti-rheumatic agents to limit the degree of irreversible joint damage. “Despite early detection, current treatment medications are limited in their efficacy and are frequently toxic” Patients, 60% to 90% look for “complementary and alternative medicines” (CAM) options in coping with this debilitating disease.

The good news

There is a “remedy” not only for this “debilitating disease” – RA, but much more.

Since 1992, hundreds of patients in Sweden, United States, Canada, Germany, Holland, United Kingdom, Pakistan, India and Bangladesh,  have found relief from their rheumatic pain and arthritis; others cured their “frozen shoulder”, still others were able to avoid knee joint operation and hip joint operation. Many sportsmen got their injuries and muscular pains cured by the use of

Although the cause of rheumatoid arthritis is unknown, autoimmunity plays a pivotal role in both its chronicity and progression, and RA is considered a systemic autoimmune disease. About 1% of the world’s population is afflicted by rheumatoid arthritis, women three times more often than men. Onset is most frequent between the ages of 40 and 50, but people of any age can be affected. It can be a disabling and painful condition, which can lead to substantial loss of functioning and mobility if not adequately treated.

More important facts:
  • Arthritis in the hands can make it difficult to perform everyday tasks.
  • Neck arthritis symptoms vary from person to person, but the most common complaints are neck pain and joint stiffness within the cervical spine.
  • Rheumatoid arthritis symptoms can go far beyond swollen angry joints, as can the complications.
  • Signs of arthritis in the hands may be difficulty turning door knobs or opening jars.

What You Must Know Before Popping Another Pill

Half of mature adults end up with the painful “wear and tear” condition called osteoarthritis. And millions more suffer from rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, gout, and other less-common arthritic diseases. The Nordic Herbal Company (NHC) has developed a massage oil which contains extracts of herbs and roots. One that offers a safe and natural way to beat arthritis pain and inflammation, combat joint damage, and help you live a more active, energetic life. Because arthritis is so common, particularly in our aging population, NHC wants to make this information available to as many sufferers as possible. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to get your hands on this valuable help for anyone plagued by arthritis pain, stiffness, and inflammation.

What are Tendons and Ligaments?

A tendon is tough, but flexible, band of fibrous connective tissue. One end of the tendon connects to muscle. The other end the tendon connects to bone. Contraction of the muscle pulls on the tendon, causing the tendon to pull the bone. In this way, tendons play an important role in muscle control of the body. Tendons are made of parallel collagen fibers running the length of the tendon. These collagen fibers give the tendon its strength. Tendons grow into the bone creating a connection that is extremely strong and hard to break. Tendons are similar to ligaments and fascia. Ligaments, also made of collagen fiber, join one bone to another bone. Similarly, fascia connects muscles to other muscles. Tendons are stretched very tightly as they connect the muscle to the bone. This makes them susceptible to injury. Tendon damage is often the result of sports injuries. Tendons can be damaged if overstrained. Tendinitis is an inflammation of the tendon resulting from repetitive overuse. Severe stretching can result in tearing a tendon. This is a very painful injury. The most common tendon damage is in the shoulder, elbow, wrist, finger, knee, ankle, and back of the heel.

What is frozen shoulder?

Frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis) is stiffness, pain, and limited range of movement in your shoulder . It may happen after an injury or overuse or from a disease such as diabetes or a stroke .

The tissues around the joint stiffen, scar tissue forms, and shoulder movements become difficult and painful. The condition usually comes on slowly, then goes away slowly over the course of a year or more.

What causes frozen shoulder?

Frozen shoulder can develop when you stop using the joint normally because of pain, injury, or a chronic health condition, such as diabetes or a stroke. Any shoulder problem can lead to frozen shoulder if you do not work to keep full range of motion.

Frozen shoulder occurs:

How is frozen shoulder diagnosed?

Your doctor may suspect frozen shoulder if a physical exam reveals limited shoulder movement. An X-ray may be done to see whether symptoms are from another condition such as arthritis or a broken bone.

How is it treated with allopathy medicines by your doctors and their advice to the patients ?

Treatment for frozen shoulder usually starts with nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and application of heat to the affected area, followed by gentle stretching. Ice and medicines (including corticosteroid injections) may also be used to reduce pain and swelling. And physical therapy can help increase your range of motion.

A frozen shoulder can take a year or more to get better.

If treatment is not helping, surgery is sometimes done to loosen some of the tight tissues around the shoulder. Can frozen shoulder be prevented?

Gentle, progressive range-of-motion exercises, stretching, and using your shoulder more may help prevent frozen shoulder after surgery or an injury.

Experts don't know what causes some cases of frozen shoulder, and it may not be possible to prevent these.
